This article describes a child support reform which is in the process of development in the State of Wisconsin. The reform, known as the Wisconsin Child Support Initiative, proposes to substitute a Child Support Assurance Program for the existing Wisconsin Child Support System. This article outlines the components of the present system, assesses its problems and then discusses the features of the proposed reform.
